Quest for Reality: Christianity and the Counter Culture

Carl F. H. Henry. Downers Grove, IL: InterVarsity, 1973. 161 pages.

Here is a good collection of brief monographs by Christians in the academic community, speaking to questions raised by our “counter culture.”

Possibly one of the most useful sections is that contributed by Ronald Nash, Arthur Holmes and George Mavrodes, where they take a Christian perspective vis a vis Marcuse, Reich and Roszak. Also of note is an article on “The Christian View of Work,” where vocation is seen “as a creative exercise of gifts in holy service to God” (p. 99).
